Muslims together in faith
The Muslim Association Riverina Wagga Wagga Australia (MARWA) is a not-for-profit organisation, based in New South Wales‘s regional city of Wagga Wagga. MARWA is committed for the development of a dynamic and interactive Muslim community to foster Islamic education as well as social contact and co-operation amongst Muslims and between Muslims and people from other faiths.
Why we need a new centre?
In recent years Riverina has experienced significant increase in Muslim population in general and particularly in the city of Wagga Wagga. The existing Islamic Study Centre at the Charles Sturt University (CSU), Wagga Wagga campus, comprising of only two rooms has been used to conduct prayers for the last 15 years. However, the facility has now become severely inadequate to accommodate number of Muslims to perform Friday prayers and children attending the Sunday Islamic School. Additionally, unavailability of venue to perform Eid prayers and to celebrate other social events on regular basis do bring undue inconveniences. Consequently, MARWA with help of Muslim community has decided to build, first of its kind in the entire Riverina region, a multipurpose centre encompassing religious, educational, social and recreational activities for Riverina’s Muslims. MARWA looks forward to your financial support and encouragement in all its endeavours to make this project a success.
