MARWA’s vision is to build a better community for all Australians through the empowerment of Muslims in Wagga Wagga and Riverina area.
Our mission is to establish a dynamic and interactive Muslim community that contributes to and enriches the harmony and multiculturalism of the Australian society. We aim to foster and promote social contact and co-operation among Muslims and between Muslims and others. We also aim to promote peace, understanding and good relations amongst all people in Wagga Wagga, Riverina and Australia through the following objectives:
- The direct relief of poverty, sickness, deprivation, suffering, misfortune and operates for the benefit of the community and/or its section. The Association also promotes the prevention or control of behaviour that is harmful or abusive to human beings.
- To provide scholarships to students for educational purposes.
- To provide emergency funds to individuals affected by poverty.
- To provide funds to assist disadvantaged families with funeral expenses in the case of a death in the family.
- To encourage all Muslims residing in the Wagga Wagga, Riverina region to join the Association as members for the furtherance of religious and social welfare of Muslims.
- To promote the spirit of unity and solidarity amongst the Muslims of Wagga Wagga, Riverina.
- To establish educational institutions to provide a balanced general education in an Islamic atmosphere to Muslim children in Wagga Wagga, Riverina.
- To assist Muslims in developing community structures.
- To undertake all or any matters which are of common interest to Muslims and which cannot be effectively undertaken by individual members, but without limiting the generality thereof all matters relating to:
- The recognition of Islamic rituals and faith in Wagga Wagga, Riverina;
- Dissemination of information on Islam;
- Rightful citizenship of Muslims;
- Social and religious betterment of Muslims generally;
- The arrangement and provision of assistance for Muslim students and visitors from overseas and Muslim migrants and refugees;
- To join other Islamic organizations such as the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils and its State affiliate in NSW to unite the Australian Muslim community and, in doing so, extend all necessary co-operation in ensuring adherence to shared goals and objectives.
- To cooperate with other Australian organizations working for the welfare and benefit of the Australian society.
- To conduct business, where all the funds generated will be used for the benefits of the community.
